Wooden Medieval Buckler
Bucklers were small shields that were used from around 1300 until about 1600. These buckers are based on earlier depictions such as those is MS I.33, albeit with accomodation to make them more suitable for modern training. While based on earlier examples, predominantly wooden bucklers were still used up to and including the 16th century, making these versatile bucklers whether you train I.33 or Paulus Mair
Construction: Made from a birch plywood core, these then have a linen covering all around. The front is primed with gesso and painted with acrylic paints, with a rawhide rim stiched around the entire edge with synthetic sinew. A solid ash handle on the back with a steel boss to finish off the front, these look the part and should provide a long lasting training tool.
